Designer drugs, for example, were developed to aid the continuous hunt of people for a better experience in the imaginary world. Nowadays, there are a number of these drugs that are out in the market. There are those that are sold in the streets, while there are also those that can be available online. These drugs are also called in different names such as alternative drugs and recreational drugs. Some people also refer to these as smart drugs. There are also those that call the drugs as underground or clandestine drugs, especially in the 90s. Whatever the name is, it is designer drug that they want. Designer drugs are produced by slightly modifying the chemical constitution of a drug to form a new drug with the same effect of the original or parent drug. The substance that is usually modified is amphetamine. Since amphetamine is a known psychoactive drug, it was declared illegal by the authorities. Then, people, or chemists, started changing its molecular structure and different kinds of other drugs are produced. These new drugs are capable of having the same effect as the amphetamine. Due to this, the governments have revised their policies on designer drugs. The classifications of illegal substances based on the effects and not on the chemical compositions. For example, any drug that is derived from and having the same effect as amphetamine is declared illegal. The same with other substances, any hallucinogenic substance derived from them that has the same psychedelic effect are banned. This prohibition led to the development of so-called underground laboratories that manufacture designer drugs. As stated above, it seems humans are really in constant search for an escape or route to another world. There are varying reasons why people want these kinds of drugs. A world that can help them alleviate the struggle in the real world. Several, on the other hand, want to experience a different kind of adventure trip into the other dimension to uplift their spirits. For some, they simply want to experience that kind of adventure. Designer drugs may be beneficial to some. However, whichever the situation could be, people should be responsible when taking these drugs. If they are fully aware that these drugs are harmful to their health due to some medical conditions, they should not take it. If it is a legal substance in their country, they should not abuse it.
